    孔昭虔，字元敬，号荃溪，孔广森之子，孔子七十一代孙。生于清乾隆四
十年（１７７５年），卒于道光十五年（１８３５年），终年６１岁。嘉庆六
年（１８０１年）中进士，任翰林院编修，官至贵州布政使。

    昭虔为人谦恭谨慎，为官清政廉明。他恪守家训，治学严谨，善隶书，工
吟咏，对古音韵学颇有研究，曾著《古韵》、《词韵》，惜未完稿。其著作还
有诗词杂剧等。
