    从汉武帝罢黜百家、独尊儒术开始，孔子思想逐渐成为中国封建社会的指导思想，按照崇德报功的传统，历代王朝在不断追谥加封孔子的同时，也对孔子的后裔给予种种优渥。一方面对孔子的嫡长孙不断加封晋爵，一方面还恩及孔子的所有后裔，给予免差、轻粮、赐田、设学等优待。
