    据《大众日报》1998年5月21日报道，1998年5月20日，山东省纪念毛泽东《在延安文艺座谈会上的讲话》发表65周年系列文化活动动员表彰大会在济南南郊宾馆举行。会上宣读了山东省委宣传部关于首届山东省刘勰文艺评论奖表彰决定，并宣读了41件获奖作品名单。会议决定，此后每两年评选一次。至2008年，已评选了4次。
