    “孟子道性善，言必称尧、舜。”（《滕文公上》）性善说，由孟子首先提出，并反复论证。孟子认为，人人有贵于己者，人皆可以为尧舜。告子是一位与孟子同时或略早的学者，孟子与其就人性问题曾有过激烈的论争。通过辩论，使性善说更加成熟、完善。
