    清末，境内体育只是健身性质的登山活动。
    建国后，党和政府重视体育事业的发展，建立健全领导机构，增置体育设施，训
练体育教学骨干，开展体育竞赛。特别在1955年颁布《劳卫制暂行条例》后，企事业
的体育活动热烈地开展起来，体育工作出现了新局面。
    1966年，“文化大革命”开始后，体育事业惨遭摧残，1976年，逐步恢复并迅速
发展。
    1996年，贯彻实施《体育法》，立足服务社会，广泛开展多种形式的群众性全民
健身活动，体育队伍不断发展壮大，涌现了一大批群众体育先进单位和个人。
