    1939年10月，区设民政助理员1人，负责民政工作。1945年5月，民政工作的内容
为动员群众参军参战，赈灾抚恤、社会救济、优待、保育、禁烟、戒赌、取缔娼妓等。
建国以后，民政工作在对烈军属优抚、复退军人安置、救灾、救济、基层政权建设、
社会福利、行政区划、殡葬改革、婚姻登记、安排残疾人就业等方面，履行了“上为
国家分忧，下为群众解愁”的职责，在社会主义物质文明和精神文明建设中发挥了应
有的作用。
