<p class="docx-p">光绪廿六年(1900年)丹麦商人濮尔生趁八国联军侵略我国之机,在天津租界内私设电话至塘沽。次年又将线路从天津延伸到北京,公开设立电话局经办长途电话业务。清政府意识到外商在我国私设电话局,有损国家主权,乃提议备价收回,但濮尔生索价太高,未能实现。至光绪卅一年(1905年)四月一日,北京电话局以5万元代价接管其全部资产。从此,京津长途电话由我国自行经营,这是我国开办长途电话之始。</p>
