冠县邮政自1901年(清光绪二十七年)开办代办所始,即开办包裹寄递业务。

中华人民共和国建国后,冠县邮政局包裹业务:1949年出口为0.22万件,包裹业务收入为0.2万元。1959年出口为1.2万件,进口为1.15万件,转口为0.86万件,收入为2.21万元(该年因有邻县划入9处支局,故业务量有所增高)。1969年因“文化大革命”的影响,出口仅0.71万件,进口0.51万件,转口0.59万件,收入1.11万元。1979年又升为出口1.8万件,进口1.31万件,转口1.96万件,收入2.12万元。到 1989 年出口发展至2.2万件,收入达到4.2万元。

1996 年出口仅1.31万件,收入达到11万元。1997年,国内包裹进､出､转口总量达1.1万件,收入达到11.35万元。包

件的趋减似应与近年的市场发展、物品齐全有关；而包裹业务的收入的趋增似应与商包的增加、资费的调整有关。
