    天主教信徒是指经过圣洗礼仪的信教人员，也称教友、信友、平信徒。希望入教、已接受培训但未受洗的人员称为望友。1991—2005年，山东省天主教信徒数量呈平稳增长趋势。1994年，全省天主教信徒6.64万人；1997年，全省天主教信徒7.3万人；2000年，全省天主教信徒8.6万人；2005年，全省天主教信徒约9万人。
