    1984年5月，省妇联成立法律顾问处，对各级妇联干部和妇女群众进行法律宣传教育和提供法律咨询帮助，向立法、司法机关提出有关保护妇女儿童合法权益的建议。1992年，《中华人民共和国妇女权益保障法》发布。为适应妇女维权工作新形势，1993年3月，省妇联成立山东省律师事务中心婚姻家庭法律事务部，主要业务范围是法律咨询、诉状、代理案件、担当法律顾问等。
    2005年，全省17个市、140个县（市、区）的妇联均建立法律咨询服务机构。
