    1986—1998年，省卫生厅药政处负责药品与医疗器械的质量监管，省医药管理局（山东省医药总公司）（以下简称省医药局、省医药总公司）作为行业主管部门，对医药工商企业的质量实施行业管理。1999—2005年，山东省卫生部门的原药政、药检职能划转到医药管理部门，同时省医药局（省医药总公司）改为山东省药品监督管理局（简称省药监局），对药品、医疗器械质量实施统一监管，2004年增加食品、保健食品、化妆品监管职能，成立山东省食品药品监督管理局（简称省食药监局）。
