    1985年起，山东以推行妇幼保健程序化管理为抓手，普及新法接生，倡导住院分娩，加强计划生育技术服务。1990年后，随着医学发展，妇女保健从单纯孕产期扩展至青春期、更年期和老年期。全省认真贯彻实施《母婴保健法》《中国妇女发展纲要》，广泛开展妇女健康保健、常见病防治、优生服务，普及计划生育新技术，为增进广大妇女健康，提高全省人口素质发挥了重要作用。
