    1996—2005年，随着社会科学研究机构的不断发展壮大，山东省的社会科学队伍日益强大。至2005年底，全省社会科学研究人员达到近10万人，与1995年相比，研究人员总数增长了近10倍。全省各级社会科学类学会、协会、研究会会员达到数十万人。全省社会科学研究人员素质不断提高，国内外学术交流活动日趋活跃，山东的社会科学事业在国内外的影响越来越大。
