    1995—2005年，山东世界史研究以马克思主义唯物史观为指导，积极借鉴和吸收国际上先进的研究理论、研究方法，在史学理论、世界上古中古史研究、地区国别史研究等方面都取得了显著的成果。其中，山东大学的世界古代中世纪史、德国史、美国史和加拿大史研究，山东师范大学的世界近代史、美国史和国际关系史研究，曲阜师范大学的世界古代中世纪史、英国史和日本史研究，聊城师范学院的世界现代史和国际共运史研究，烟台师范学院的美国史研究等都作出了贡献。
