    山东省花卉品种选育研究起步较早。20世纪60年代，北京林业大学、山东农业大
学专家在菏泽地区进行牡丹研究，指导当地花农进行牡丹生产和品种选育工作；70年
代，平阴县玫瑰研究所开始进行玫瑰杂交育种工作；90年代后，山东省陆续进行了海
棠、金银花、仙客来、睡莲等花卉的选育工作。
