    1983—1986年、1998—1999年，山东省利用遥感遥测技术和人工普查相结合的方法，进行了两次水土流失状况普查，建立了包括遥感影像、土地利用类型图、土壤侵蚀类型和强度分级图的全省土壤侵蚀本底值数据库，为搞好水土保持规划、开展小流域综合治理提供了数据支撑。1986年，在第一次普查的基础上，对全省水土流失进行了区划；1999年，确定了水土流失重点预防保护区、监督区、治理区的范围及其防治措施。
