    20世纪80年代，山东省主要硬质合金生产企业有临朐县硬质合金工具厂、济南市冶金科学研究所两家。1977—1985年，临朐县硬质合金工具厂共生产硬质合金191.13吨、电煤钻头44.4万个、风钻头1939个、煤机刀1310个，1986年后无资料记载。
    1986—2005年，硬质合金生产企业只有济南市冶金科学研究所，稀土生产企业只有山东微山湖稀土矿有限公司。
