    山东省高等职业教育随着国家高职教育的发展而发展，经历了20世纪80年代的孕育期，90年代初的萎缩期，90年代末的复苏、建立期。至21世纪初期，高等职业教育有了较大发展。2005年，省政府印发《关于大力发展职业教育的决定》，山东省高职教育进入发展高峰期，全省高等职业院校达64所。
