    1992年以后，随着基础教育尤其是义务教育的快速发展，以及城乡经济对各类中等技术人才日益增长的需求，山东省中专招生考试工作迅速发展，2003年达到高峰。全省各类中专共录取新生1657219人，为弥补人才断代发挥了重要作用。
