    山东省游泳队组建于1958年10月，是山东省成立专业运动队较早的队伍之一。1986—2005年，山东游泳快速发展。从第七届全运会至第十届全运会，山东省游泳队在全运会赛场上共获得8枚金牌、5枚银牌、2枚铜牌。
    山东省跳水队组建于1984年。建队之初，由于优秀教练员和训练基地欠缺，管理机制不完善，没有形成良好的梯队建设，影响了成绩的提高。20世纪90年代后，省体育中心注重培养和引进教练员，扩大运动员选材范围，加强与国家跳水队的联系与合作，山东省跳水队逐渐走向辉煌，屡次在国际、国内比赛中取得佳绩。
