    检务工作在检验检疫产生时就存在，只是早期没有出现“检务”这个词。新中国成立后，第二次全国商品检验会议正式提出将报检、计费、签证、统计等综合性业务统称为检务工作。改革开放后，随着对外贸易的蓬勃发展，山东检验检疫业务量迅速增加，检务工作逐步发展起来。
