    1978—1982年，山东省进行外贸体制改革，外贸经营出现跨地区、跨行业的新情况，青岛商检局在原产地检验、口岸查验工作方式上进行统调统管，使进出口把关得到加强。自1983年起，山东商检局根据国家商检局的要求，对出口机电产品、纺织品、服装等生产企业实施质量许可制度管理。1988—2005年，山东商检局在出口生产企业中推行国际质量保证体系标准（ISO9000），使许多企业获得进入国际市场的“通行证”。山东口岸出口量大、货值较高的机动车辆、坯布、印染布、金属材料及制品、矿产品（煤炭、水泥）、机电产品（家用电器）、鞋类、梭织服装、裘革服装、玩具、陶瓷、轮胎、食品等大宗及重点商品，均得到长足发展。
