    2001年，新矿集团成立煤炭地下汽化研究所，开展煤炭地下汽化技术研究，2002年始建成协庄煤矿、孙村煤矿、鄂庄煤矿地下汽化站。汽化煤气除用于职工生活外，主要用于供应陶瓷公司及400千瓦内燃机，并向煤化工方向发展，生产甲醇、二甲醚等化工产品。
