    1996—2005年，山东省邮政部门一方面采取措施加快传统汇兑业务发展，一方面加强信息技术应用，对传统汇兑业务进行改造，推进汇兑产品创新，开发多个适合市场需求的业务品种，特别是电子汇兑业务的发展，为汇兑业务注入活力，使汇兑业务持续和健康发展。总体上看，由于受商业银行汇兑业务冲击等因素影响，邮政汇兑业务起伏变化较大，国内汇兑业务呈下降态势，国际汇兑业务呈上升态势。
