    1992-2005年，省统计局通过实施统计信息工程建设，全省的统计信息系统骨干网络初步建成，全省17市、130多个县(市、区)及部分乡镇接入省统计信息网络。省统计信息网络上联国家统计局，横联各省(自治区、直辖市)统计信息网，下联各级统计部门，成为省、市、县三级结构的统计数据报送和统计信息共享的良好平台。在网络应用方面，有网站建设、办公自动化、企业直报、数据库建设、电子邮箱等。
