    1996年1月，省政府公布省物价局机构改革实施方案，省物价局暂保留正厅级，由省计委管理，主管全省物价工作。2000年，全省机构改革，省政府明确省物价局为主管全省价格工作的副厅级行政机构，全省各级物价机构分别进行改革和调整。1997-2005年，全省物价机构设置逐步完善，职责范围更加明确。其间，全省物价系统不断加强干部队伍学习教育和规范化建设，干部队伍素质不断提高，为全省物价事业健康有序发展提供了有力的组织保障。
