    1989-2005年，随着经济社会发展与地质工作转型的需要，地球物理勘查与地球化学勘查更多地应用于矿产地质勘查和其他专业地质勘查。水文地质工作更多地转向水源地勘察。地质灾害调查、矿山地质环境保护与治理、地质遗迹保护、农业地质等与经济社会发展和人居环境息息相关的生态地质环境工作渐成专业地质勘察的重要内容。
