    1989-2005年，金属矿产是山东省勘查立项最多、勘查程度较高的重点矿种。山东金属矿产分为黑色金属矿产、贵金属矿产、有色金属矿产和稀 有金属矿产四大类。其中金矿和铁矿资源较丰富，勘查程度高。金矿资源主要分布在鲁东地区，铁矿资源主要分布在鲁中南地区。
