     山东省人口调查包括全省人口普查、 人口抽样调查、人口经常登记与统计、定
点定期调查、综合社会调查等。1989-2005年，山东省进行了第四次(1990年) 和第五
次(2000年)人口普查。其余年份进行了1‰人口抽样调查(1995年、2005年是1%抽样，
称为“小普查”)，考察各年度人口变动的主要情况。1994-2005年进行了城镇劳动力
调查。2004年进行了综合社会调查。通过这些调查，掌握了全省人口的基本情况。

     1989-2005年，山东省人口科学研究取得突破性进展：研究机构不断充实，研究
领域不断扩展，研究方法多种多样，研究成果数量持续增加，质量不断提高，许多成
果进入政府决策；计划生育和统计系统工作人员更加注重理论研究，不断取得有价值
的成果。
