    1985年，山东省境内国家铁路营业里程总计1965.8公里，延展长度2823.5公里，
其中，复线延展长度684.2公里。1986年以后，为改变铁路运能不足的现状，省内铁
路建设一方面加强既有线改造，一方面加快新线建设步伐，铁路运输能力大幅增长，
运输状况明显改善，铁路运输发生质的飞跃，由短缺型向快速、重载、大密度的目标
发展，形成沟通南北、纵贯东西、布局合理、四通八达的现代化路网。至2005年，山
东省境内国家铁路营业里程总计2633.94公里，延展长度4675.1公里。
