    1986年，全省共设14个市(地)公安机构，其中有济南、青岛、淄博、枣庄、东营、
烟台、潍坊、济宁、泰安9个地级市公安局和临沂、德州、聊城、惠民、菏泽5个地区
公安处。 1987年后，随着行政区划的调整，原有5个地区先后改为地级市，新设立威
海、日照、莱芜3个地级市，至2005年底，全省设有17个市公安局。
