　　镇党委书记宋厚永，镇长孙基国。镇政府驻崖头村，辖56个行政村，人口5.12
万人，面积96平方公里，其中耕地3333公顷。1998年全镇水产品产量7300吨，渔业
总收入8807万元。工业总产值37.22亿元，利润2.14亿元。农村经济总收入22.93亿
元，农民人均纯收入4138元。全市重点中学荣成市第一中学位于境内，普通中学4
所，职业中学1所，小学13所，在校学生1.3万人。该镇东南临海，海岸线长6公里，
浅海滩涂2800公顷；是荣成市委、市政府所在地，交通通讯便利，基础设施完备，
产业结构合理，经济发展较快，拥有镇办企业20家、村办企业100家、私营企业150
多家、外资企业10家，形成机电、化工、汽车、电子、建材、轻纺、水产品加工七
大支柱产业。
