　　1998年,威海威东航运有限公司“新金桥”轮(威海-仁川)、“香雪兰”轮(青
岛-仁川)共安全航行247航次,承运中外旅客14.25万人次，运输货物39.48万个20英
尺国际标箱,在受东南亚及韩国金融危机影响的情况下仍取得了较好的经营业绩。
1998年5月一举通过ISMCODE/ISO9002两项国际认证。荣获“山东省共建文明口岸先
进单位”、“全国外商投资双优企业”称号。12月5日,国家对外经济贸易部和国家
统计局信息中心联合公布“1997/1998年度中国最大的500家外商投资企业”,威东
航运有限公司名列第405位。
