    1988年全市总面积仍为3471平方公里，仍辖张店、博山、淄川、临淄、周村五区和桓台县。为了有利于生产建
设， 更好地发挥自治组织的自治能力，经临淄区人民政府8月19日批准，将临淄区金岭回族镇的金岭东村划分为金
岭一村、金岭二村、金岭三村，金岭西村划分为金岭四村、金岭五村、金岭六村，分别组成六个村民委员会。截至
年底，全市共有56处乡，40处镇，11处街道办事处，1884个自然村，1930个村民委员会，223个居民委员会。
