    1989年底全市共有1774722户， 6571597人（比1988年增加54677人），其中男性
3348454人，女性3223143人；非农业人口1656160人，农业人口4915437人；市内市南、
市北、台东、四方、沧口等5区人口1246146人，黄岛区和崂山区人口790197人、平度、
即墨、莱西、胶南和胶州5县（市）人口4535254人，其中市内市南、市北、台东、四
方、 沧口等5区平均每平方公里13545人，黄岛区和崂山区平均每平方公里782人，莱
西、 胶南2县和胶州、 平度、即墨市平均每平方公里474人。1989年全市出生人口为
103727人， 出生率15.88%；死亡38840人，死亡率5.95%；自然增长率9.93%全市有归
国华侨670户，758人；侨眷2420户、4554人；港澳同胞眷属1209户，2453人。
