    原大麦岛至石老人段公路，路窄、面次、坡徒、弯多，很不适应青岛市旅游业的
迅速发展。为此，1988年青岛市政府决定拓宽改造大麦岛至石老人旅游公路。这也是
青岛市交通局所承办的青岛市政府1988年决定重点办好的11件大事之一。
    拓宽改造大麦岛至石老人旅游公路计划投资1280万元。 总长度7.3公里，设计路
基宽度为41米， 桥涵26座，共计长876.5米，动用土石方48.2万立方米。1988年已完
成征地拆迁手续和施工图纸的设计工作。
