    即墨市为加快发展海上运输、渔业和旅游事业,决定在鳌山卫镇柴岛西侧海域新建一座码头,以满
足停泊1000吨级以下货轮、中小渔轮及旅游观光的需要。
    新建港址利用柴岛作为港区东侧天然屏障,码头建在-4～-5米自然水深处。即墨市交通局委托中港
一航局二公司施工,合同工期14个月,工程总造价1300多万元。1996年9月3日该工程开工,1998年12月31日
竣工并验收,由青岛市质量监督站港口分站核定为优良。
