    1997年，全市有7个区、市相继建立区、街人民调解委员会。开展“走千家、进万户、排隐患、
保平安”、“为十五大顺利召开清障”等纠纷排查活动，排除不安定因素。全年调处各类纠纷25245
件，成功率96．1%；防止民转刑案件61起216人，防止自杀37起47人。
