    截止1997年底，全市已建老年大学（学校）308所，在校学员24万余人。其中，市老年大学设教
学班61个，在校学员2199人，是全国在校学员较多的老年大学之一。为解决市老年大学校舍不足的问
题， 市委、市政府决定拨专款新建市老年大学校舍2000平方米，并于12月17日举行奠基仪式，计划于
1998年底竣工投入使用。
