    随着青岛对外开放的不断深入, 全市的长途通信需求量持续增长。而长途交换机
容量自1994年增容后一直未再增容, 容量已显不足, 影响了长途业务的进一步发展。
1996年初,市邮电局决定把新长途通信第二系统2万路端做为重要工作目标之一来抓。
12月20日,2万路端长途交换机顺利开通,长途总容量达到3.07万路端,通信能力大幅度
提高。
