    该工程是1996年市政府重点要办好的11件实事之一。迎宾路起自流亭机场,经308
国道、海尔路、 湛流干路至市级机关办公楼, 全长36.6公里。迎宾路的绿化建设从3
月12 日植树节开始动工以来,共开挖土石方94.7万立方米,回填种植土24万立方米,拆
除广告牌254个合6200多平方米, 拆除临时建筑9905平方米,共栽植乔木4.21万株、灌
木52. 91万丛, 铺栽草皮47万平方米,完成绿化面积121.59万平方米,整个工程于1996
年11月15日通过检查验收。
