    该工程被市政府确定为1996年重点工作目标之一。按照规划设计要求, 对园内的
地形进行了全面整修, 栽植乔木近400株、灌木3800多丛, 整体更换常绿草皮4万平方
米,安装了自动喷灌和草皮灯等设施, 整修硬化路面6000多平方米,绿化完善了雕塑周
围的小环境, 使百花苑成为市区集人文与自然景观于一体、绿化档次较高的园林景点
之一。
