    1996年, 青岛市所辖乡镇已有90% 设立了建设委员会。在集中精力抓好建设部两
个镇试点的同时,继续实施了省“百新工程”(评出100个新型乡镇)和市的14个小城镇
建设试点, 取得一些成功的经验。1996年全市用于村镇建设投资14.67亿元,其中住宅
建设6.22亿元,面积248.54万平方米,楼房60万平方米;公共建筑投资2.26亿元,生产性
建筑投资3.16亿元; 公用设施投资3.02亿元。全市农村人均居住面积15.17平方米,自
来水普及率达92%,人均公共绿地8平方米。新一轮小城镇规划进展迅速,有65个乡镇完
成规划编制,累计达122个,有100个乡镇和485个村庄完成了建设规划。
