    煤制气工程是近年来青岛市政建设的重点工程项目之一。 1985年3月破土动工，
1986年12月27日点火烘炉，1987年3月23日正式投产供气。
    青岛市煤制气工程设计规模为日供民用煤气14万立方米，总投资8230万元；气源
厂设在沧口区胜利桥东南侧海滩， 占地面积25.83公顷；输配为支状供气，已建成中
低压管道90公里。 全厂职工1430人。到1987年底，已发展用户3.2万户，安装供气管
道196公里，全年供气491万立方米。
