    莱西县在对全县土地绿化进行全面规划的基础上，不断强化村政管理和服务体系，
采取国家、集体、个人一齐投资造林的办法，加快了全县的绿化速度。至1987年，全
县已造林8.4万亩，平均每年增加1.4万亩，使林地总面积达到21.7万亩，农田林网达
到87万亩， 其中宽幅林带387条，总长1350公里，四旁植树2250万株。经济林面积达
到30.7万亩。 荒山全部绿化。全县林木覆盖率达到23.5%，林木蓄积量达到49.8万立
方米。 1983年至1986年连续3年被评为“全国平原绿化先进县”。1987年被中央绿化
委员会评为“全国绿化先进单位”。
