    济南市被定为副省级城市根据全国部分省会市和六个计划单列市的经济、政治地
位及其中心城市的作用，经中央机构编制委员会第六次会议讨论，并经中共中央、国
务院领导同意， 济南市等16个城市的行政级别被确定为副省级。1994年2月25日，中
央机构编制委员会就此正式发出通知。与济南市同时定为副省级的其他城市是：广州、
武汉、哈尔滨、沈阳、成都、南京、西安、长春、杭州、重庆、大连、青岛、深圳、
厦门、宁波。(市史志办)
