    鄄城建县较早，明代以前政权机构称县署(县衙)，基层政权称乡、里(详细情况无考)；明后期鄄城并入濮州，其政权机构称州署。民国时期县署改为县政府，基层政权为乡公所、保公所、村公所。建国后，县级政权曾先后称县人民政府、县人民委员会、县革命委员会、县人民政府，基层政权先后称区人民政府、乡人民政府、公社管理委员会、公社革命委员会、公社管理委员会、乡(镇)人民政府。
