    1931年建县时，征地270亩，城周长3公里。建国后，城区建设发展很快，规模逐渐扩大。据1983年统计，城区范围包括东西南北四街、罗庄、黄庄、东肖庄和赵庄，占地总面积2.37平方公里，人均11.95平方米。老城区内多是居民住房和商店；新城区东、东南多为工厂，城南多为县直机关、商店、学校、公共建筑等。建筑密度为16.88％，平均层数为1.08层，总建筑面积186920平方米。
