    废旧物资回收工作主要通过农村代购代销店和一些小商贩来进行。他们经常下乡串院，把那些“弃之为废，收之为宝”的破铜烂铁、破布烂鞋、废纸杂骨、羽毛人发、碎玻璃、旧塑料、废酒瓶等收集起来，卖给国家，变废为宝，支援国家工农业生产。收购品种多达70种。据统计，1952至1990年全县共收购废钢铁17万担，废有色金属0.56万担，破布破布鞋13万担，废纸0.7万担，废旧棉0.9万担，废橡胶轮胎3448只。
