    鄄城县木器制作业历史悠久，民国以前，即有许多私营木作铺散布于全县各大集镇，建国后部分走上集体道路。1953年成立县木器生产合作社，1958年并入县农机制造修配厂，内设木器车间，1962年将木器车间和修配车间分出，组建成县农具修配厂。为扩大木器生产，1975年1月木器车间又从中分出，建立县木器厂。初设于西街路北被服二厂院内，是年7月迁至县城东门外肖庄中部路北，时有干部职工33人，车床5台，固定资产2.7万元，年产值5万元。1985年人员增加到41人，生产设备22台，固定资产21万元，产值30万元，主要产品有桌、椅、箱、橱、写字台等家具。
    木器厂建立后的前五年，生产稳步发展，经济效益较好。1977年7月经菏泽地区行政公署批准为“五小企业”。后来企业连年亏损，1988年扭亏为盈，产值80.1万元，利润1.2万元，税金3.7万元，1990年又转为亏损。
